Constructed of composite plastic with black urethane coating, the Plasgear will not corrode or rust as a result of exposure to harsh chemicals. The new plastic gear box is ideally suited for use in a broad range of applications such as severe chemicals and sea water. Plasgear is standard on all Asahi/America 1½" - 14" Type 57 Butterfly Valves or can be supplied without the valve. The gear incorporates the latest industry standards including NAMUR top works for accessories and the globally recognized ISO 5211 standards (F07 &, F10, and F14) for interchangeability to most industrial valves. Plasgear can be factory mounted or mounted in the field on existing installations.
In recent months, Asahi/America, Inc. has experienced multiple changes with regards to the Gear-
Operators being offered on butterfly valves sizes 1-1/2” – 16”. Not only have we produced our own Gear-Operator, the Plasgear™, Mastergear® who supplies all our metallic gear-operators has made revisions totheir existing gear-operators. When placing your order, please use this
document as a guide in selecting the appropriate part number for any 2” square operating nut to be retro-fit onto existing gear-operators already in service. This document is only for adding square nuts to gear operators already in service, if Asahi is providing the Gear-operator with the Square nut already attached, we will select the appropriate square nut.
The Plasgear™ operator use the following part numbers when ordering 2” Square Nuts:
p/n 3766100 – 2” Square Nut for PLASGEAR™ for 1-1/2” – 10” T-57 butterfly valves
p/n 3766160 – 2” Square Nut for PLASGEAR™ for12” – 16” T-57/56 butterfly valves
