Upgrade Announcement

Asahi/America Inc. is pleased to announce we have upgraded our Pool-Pro line of butterfly valves.

Effective immediately with the release of Pool-Pro Type SP Butterfly Valve Price Sheet Rev. D 09-08, we will no longer offer Metal Gear-Operators for our 1-1/2” – 10” Pool-Pro valves.  We will now be offering exclusively the Plasgear,™ all plastic enclosure Gear-Operator, as a standard for 1-1/2” – 10” Pool-Pro valves.  As a result we have made 2 changes to the part numbering system for the Pool-Pro valves.

  • Part numbers 1765015 – 1765060:  Metal Gear-Operators for 1-1/2” – 6” valves are no longer available.   Part numbers 1728080 and 1728100 for 8” and 10” valves with metal gear-operator are no longer valid, and are replaced by 3793080 and 3793100.
  • Part numbers 3793015 – 3793100  represent our PVC body, PVC disc, EPDM seat

1-1/2” – 10” Pool-Pro Butterfly valve with factory mounted Plasgear™ all plastic enclosure gear-operator.

This upgrade is offered with no impact to List Pricing.  Part numbers 3793080 and 3793100 are list priced identical to 1728080 and 1728100

Please note that we will continue to offer two varieties of 12” Pool-Pro Valves.  Part number 1728120 will remain for a metal gear-operator Pool-Pro valve, while part number 3793120 will be used for the upgraded version Plasgear™ gear-operator.

Description

Butterfly valves are named for the wing-like action of the flow-controlling disc, which operates at right angles to the flow. The disc has about the same diameter as the connecting pipe, and the flow is straight through, with a low pressure drop. Maintenance is easy due to the small number of moving parts. The butterfly valve can be used either as an on/off or modulating type of valve. These valves may be operated manually, electrically, or pneumatically.

Features and Benefits

  • Submersible construction material allows complete submersion of valve body as all components are compatible with chlorinated water.
  • PVC/PVC/EPDM construction - Ideal for chlorinated water applications.
  • Blue Handle Design  - New blue handle designates the proper valve is in place for chlorinated water applications.
  • 316SS Non-wetted Stem - Stem does not come in contact with the media, but is still compatible if in direct contact.
  • Thermoplastic Material - Lightweight construction allows for easy installation.
  • ISO Mounting Pad - Allows for field mounting of accessories including: stem extensions, gear operators and automation.
